One of my favorite bands. Favorite song off their 2011 album. Favorite song of 2011.
This album was a big letdown to a lot of people. It’s definitely uneven, and it’s always disappointing when a band you love comes back after a long time with anything less than HIT CITY.
But I love it. Angles was a big part of my 2011. It accompanied me and my nerves to a LOT of improv shows. This song was the soundtrack to a lot of tiny victories. I’d leave Harold Night or some audition feeling like I did okay (or even well!), and I’d throw on this song and bop on down to McManus or the train or wherever. I can’t help but let this song take over.
Music’s dumb, the Strokes are dumb, I’m dumb, burp burp burp.
