You know how sometimes in conversation you’ll need to quickly pull some hyperbolic number out (“I swear, there were like ___ of ‘em”)? For whatever reason, 74 just came to my head when I needed that kind of number. It sounds like a random number, but once I chose it, it wasn’t.
But for awhile I thought it was following me. Like The Number 23! I didn’t see that movie because it looked terrible, but it reminded me of how much I saw, or I guess how much I chose to see the 74.
I used to have an internal list of places I saw 74. Most of them are forgotten. My brother was born in ‘74. 74 was the number on the sports jersey you could put on your created character in a PS1 wrestling game I played a bunch. I heard people say 74 on TV a bunch.
I mean, you could pick any two digit number and probably hear it a bunch if you told yourself to. Nothing special. Right.
